Twisted’s New Year’s Resolution to Ride!
The New Year brings promise of new beginnings, second chances and a fresh start. It is a time of reflection on the year past and decisions to make changes for the year to come are on everyone’s mind. While losing weight, saving money, and spending more time on self-care all seem to be solid goals for all of us… Here at Twisted we have two wheels on the brain! So what are our resolutions for 2020? Read on to see what the Twisted crew is vowing to do this year.
Dave is the service manager here at Twisted and has been riding since he was 13 years old. This year he is making plans to hit the road!
“My moto resolution is to spend more time on the roads of northern New England and New York. The mountain passes and the Kancamagus highway are just so relaxing. A run out to Niagara Falls to enjoy the Canadian side is on the list as well. On the road is where you will find me this year!”
Erik, a.k.a. Mr. Twisted, is the founder of Twisted Throttle and you guessed it – he is riding into 2020 with a few two-wheeled resolutions as well. Although he spends too much time behind a desk keeping all of us in line, his New Year resolutions do involve putting more miles on the moto’s this riding season.
“This year, I want to wear the chicken strips off my ADV bike, not just my track bike! I also want to spend more time on the road, so this year I am vowing to take more riding trips. I plan to take a weekend ride with my wife once a month from May to October to explore new areas of the northeast together. That is, if she’ll let me keep up with her!”
Marisa rides motorcycles by day and produces Twisted web content by night. To keep her creative juices flowing, she has to get out on the open road regularly! This year she plans to ride in Alaska, something she has been wanting to do for many years! She also has a new project up her sleeve, involving a bike as old as she is…
“This year I have several resolutions, because I am big on setting and reaching new goals each year! In 2020 I plan to ride in Alaska, a place I have always wanted to visit! I will be focusing on the south central part of the state, and plan to get two wheels on a glacier before the year is through.”
“I also have plans to restore a 1992 Honda XR100 (the same age as me!) to its original glory and enter it in some local flat track races! Right now it is just a box of parts in my dad’s barn. In a few months this bike will be ready to hit the track! (I hope!)”
Justin is our do-it-all warehouse manager, and in 2018 he started sipping the orange koolaid with a brand new KTM 390 Duke. This year, he plans to add to his stable!
“I am hoping I can get a 2020 KTM 790 Duke this year, since I bought the 390 Duke last year and fell in love! Who knows, maybe in 2021 I will go for the SuperDuke!”
If you’ve ever called in to the Twisted hotline, you have probably spoken with Keith. He is our resident beard-o and know it all Gear Scout! He has been riding most of his life on various forms of motorcycles. This year he is making a vow to do a bit better on his moto-maintenance. A great resolution, if you ask us!
“For Christmas I asked Santa to gift me some moto tools, like all those weird sized torx bits I don’t have but always seem to need – and that fancy digital tire pressure gauge so I stop confirming my tire pressure using my “30 PSI squeeze test”. This year I pledge to do better with my scheduled maintenance, like on-time oil changes and brake flushes. Luckily Santa brought me a Hex GS911 to help with diagnostics when I need it!”
Our Director of IT, Daniel, has a motorcycle loving family, and this year he is planning a special trip with his father.
“My New Year’s resolution is to ride the Black Hills with my dad. We’ve never been to Sturgis together before, but he loves to go up there with his camper and bikes. This year we are planning to make the trip together because we thought it would be fun. Riding has always been in the Edwards family blood”.
Our Digital Marketing Manager, Josh LaCroix, was bitten by the motorcycle bug in 2016 and has been putting in the miles on his Ninja 300 for the last 4 years. His 2020 resolution to ride is just that… To ride!
“My New Year moto-resolution is to simply get more road time! Between moving and having the bike in storage for longer than I wanted, sitting got the best of my Ninja and when I finally fired her up in late September she blew a radiator hose. So first on the agenda is to inspect the bike and replace the radiator hose. I will be hitting the open road as soon as possible! Maybe my wife will go for a ride with me too!”
John is one of our valued purchasing experts, and sometimes he even buys things for himself… Like a couple years ago when he picked up a Ducati ST4s with plans to turn it into a custom naked bike. He is making excellent progress!
“Well the bike is in pieces again since I de-tabbed the frame and am going to have it powder coated. So I am resolving to remember how to put it all back together!”
