Motorcycle Events to Attend in 2020

Looking for a fun event to attend this year on your motorcycle? Interested in meeting new friends who share your hobbies and can talk shop around a campfire? Look no further. Here are some of Twisted’s favorite annual riding events. We hope to see you at some of these in 2020!

March Moto Madness Tennessee

March 26-29, 2020

Tellico Plains, TN

Nicknamed “The Mother Rally” of all March Moto Madness events, everyone should add March Moto Madness Tennessee to their rally schedule! With nearly 1000 riders in attendance throughout the weekend, ADV and Dual Sporters will have plenty of motorcycles to gawk at and fellow enthusiasts to chat with around a campfire. This is known as one of the wildest ADV rallies with night rides happening at all odd hours and various delicacies being passed around each campfire – the party doesn’t stop until the sun comes up! The food is great, the riding is epic, and you never know what kind of weather will be in store. All riders should make the pilgrimage to Tennessee at least once to experience this event! You will likely find some of the Twisted crew in attendance this year. Make sure to say hi!

BMW RA National Rally

September 17-19, 2020

Waynesville, North Carolina

One of the largest national riding clubs, the BMW Riders Association, hosts an annual event that changes locations each year. This year they are visiting the mountainous Waynesville, North Carolina in the heart of The Blue Ridge. Surrounded by fantastic riding, this year’s rally will also feature off-road training opportunities, special guest speakers, industry vendors, and lots of door prizes!

Ribfest Rally

October 16-18, 2020

Centerville, TN

BMW Motorcycle Club of Nashville

Every October, a small group (around 100) of motorcyclists converge in Centerville, TN at Lee Waggoner’s farm for one of the best rallies in the country. As the name suggests, ribs are involved – and they are some of the BEST I’ve ever eaten. In case you are wondering if you will get your fill, don’t worry… Ribs are smoked all day (and night) in preparation for the all-you-can-eat feast following the bike games on Saturday afternoon. The party lasts until the wee hours or until the ribs finally run out. Riding in the area is a real treat too. Lee’s property has a variety of single track trails of all difficulty levels for those who want to wrestle your bike through the woods. Dual sporters will love the gravel roads in the area, and sport touring fans are also in luck with beautiful twisty pavement in almost every direction. The rally is located near the Natchez Trace, which gives our southern friends a nice option for cruising up to the event. This is one you don’t want to miss!

GO BIG – Rock Lobster

August 6-9, 2020

Colebrook, CT

Rock Lobster

We aren’t talking about the 1978 B-52’s hit here, we are talking about the GS Giants annual GO BIG rally. This year, Rob Nye is hosting 300 riders in Colebrook, CT for fun, riding, and amazing food! The rally site sits very close to the NE BDR route, which indicates there is plenty to explore (on or off road) in this area. Rock Lobster will offer trials courses and they have two of the best track builders in the United States, Jim Bean and Dennis Godwin, coming to build a very challenging course utilizing natural and man made obstacles. Did we mention there will be great food? Well, it doesn’t get the name Rock Lobster for no reason… Saturday night will feature a whole lobster dinner with clam chowder and all the fixin’s. The other meals won’t leave you hungry either, with a delicious menu sure to fill you up each day. And since Rob Nye is hosting, there will of course be Real Vermont Maple Syrup for breakfast. We can’t wait for this one!

June 25-27, 2020

Great Falls, MT

The annual MOA rally will be held this year in Great Falls, Montana. Great Falls offers all the best of Montana recreation: fishing, hunting, hiking, and more. There is plenty of fantastic riding to do in the area. Even if you don’t ride during the event, getting to and from the rally will be a special treat. Vendors will fill the venue, sharing their latest products and gadgets. Thousands of BMW riders will attend, so you are bound to meet someone new and interesting. There are a variety of seminars and demonstrations to attend, food vendors will be on site, and training classes will be taking place as well. Come on out to the largest BMW rally, and be sure to stop by the Twisted Throttle booth to say hello!

Overland Expo – East/West

West – May 15-17, 2020 Flagstaff, AZ

East – October 9-11, 2020 Arrington, VA

If you are interested in motorcycle travel and overland expeditions, this is the event for you! The weekend is filled with seminars, training courses, product demonstrations, and more! Learn from some of the most experienced overland travelers on earth and get inspired to plan your next adventure. Motorcycles and 4×4’s come together for this event, so be prepared to go home with a new project in mind. If you make it out to either event, be sure to stop by the Twisted Throttle tent!

Super Tenere Rally

April 23-26, 2020

North Harrison Township, AR

Yamaha Super Tenere Rally

This annual event is put together by the Super Tenere Forum, bringing yammie riders together from all over the country. This is a laid back event – no registration fees, bring your own everything, pay for your own camping or hotel room, etc. There will be a community dinner on Saturday night for folks who want to pay a small bit for a great meal.  Arkansas offers fabulous riding, and believe it or not they welcome riders on all makes and models.

Stolen Pig Rally

April 23-26, 2020

Matewan, WV

The small town of Matewan, WV has a lot of history – famous for the Hatfield & McCoy feuds. It’s also known as a great area for motorcycle riding. Offroad, dual sport, or road touring – no matter what you swing a leg over, you will find plenty of adventure in Matewan. One of the local McCoy’s (Don and his wife Kathy) put together an annual event called the Stolen Pig Rally to bring ADV riders into the area. Don shares his maps of great dual sporting in the area, and also invites riders to test out their skills in the Hatfield & McCoy trail system. If you like bacon, this is the event for you! Each afternoon, the McCoy’s bring out pounds of bacon for riders to roast around the open fire. Something about bacon on a fire and riding motorcycles with friends just sounds enticing, doesn’t it!?

AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days

July 10-12,2020

Lexington, OH

For those who enjoy riding (or just admiring) vintage motorcycles, this is not an event you want to skip out on. From racing, to swap meets, to onsite vendors, to custom builders, to resto-mods, this event has everything a vintage motorcyclist would enjoy. Put on by the American Motorcycle Association, this is a fantastic event and one everybody should put on their “list”.
